Oh, wow, this is interesting info.  It would have been cute and hilarious to see Jr. and Albedo match like that.  It also would have been nice to see the URTVs' mother revealed.  I remember back when people used to speculate it was actually Juli...

I seem to remember people talking about how it might have been Juli.  If it was, that would make everyone shipping the URTVs with the 100-series very uncomfortable. >_>

Exactly.  I'm very against Jr.xMOMO as a pairing to begin with, and this just set off all of my SQUICK feelings worse.  Though it doesn't really make much sense for it to have been Juli, other than she knew Yuriev.  I think it was just easier for people to use her as a speculation starting point.

Well, there is the law of conservation of characters/detail in fictional worlds, so Juli made a good deal of sense at the time. But yeah, that would've made the Mizrahi/URTV dynamics even more perverse than they are already.

(If you do the math, then Joachim Mizrahi was 40 and Juli was 18 when Sakura was born. Oi...)

That and I also think that the URTVs and the 100-series are very closely romantically associated in canon already, so making Juli their mother would have made the entire URTV line super-squicky. Not that people aren't hung up on URTVcest in the first place, which, like, hey, everyone has their ship, but I don't get incest, period, so. ::shrugs, waits to get shot:: I actually kind of root for Jr and Momo later on, like, when they grow up, but I don't think a lot of people know this because I spent all my time just saying ORMUS over and over.

Maybe she was his student or something? I sure that Soraya or Takahashi would be able to tell more about them for sure.

I'm pretty sure Soraya-san would gladly illuminate on the subject if someone were to ask her on Twitter.  (Also read: I am too chicken to say anything but YOU ARE SO AWESOME every time I get up the courage to talk to her so someone else should do it instead.)

(And I have no business complaining about 18 year olds being married to 40 year olds.  I'm the one who had a crush on Cyan Garamonde when I was 14 >_> )

Well, many asked her Xeno questions but she don't answer anymore... I think what happen to Xenosaga and how Namco treat them still hurts and she close that part of her life...
But you can always try...

She went through enough, and I think fans asking her 'Saga questions might dredge up some old wounds better left closed.  We can just speculate on our own.

2. The translation is still progressing, and in fact, late last year, the story text was finished. However, there is still a lot of optional text left. The translation is progressing slowly, but the translator is as dedicated to the task as I am.

Well, I posted it on the 2nd, but as I said it was posted the day before on Romhacking, so yeah, it was originally posted on April 1st. But I'm pretty sure it's not an April Fool's joke;

the update looks the same as any other update on the site. Besides, I doubt they'd make that kind of joke, given that they rarely post updates to begin with. It wouldn't be very funny for all the people who still faithfully check their site for updates.

Anyway, it's the 3rd now and they didn't say "April Fool's!", so yeah, I'm confident it's a real update. ^^

Yeah, people usually update their stuff on April Fools Day before the day is over, but sometimes people are just lazy about it. Has there been an update since?

Nope, but well, the update also included the release of... something called "armips" and that alone seems real enough. Anyway, you can find the update here.

You can judge for yourself how "real it looks", but it seems perfectly normal to me.
*Oh, at the end of the update there's actually a link to another project for a "Tales of" game translation which they confirm was not an April Fool's joke. ;]

I want to remind about translation that Gwendal make for DS version. He translated many chapters (I asked him for ones that I seen are most different from original and there is some nice new info in them)

From what I gather, they're pretty much done with the text. But the game itself still has to be debugged, played through, etc. Still, I think there's a good chance we'll get a release before 2014.
