The translation patch project for this fell through, but I was wondering if anyone had any interest in this title left in them?
Adrak wrote:I'm still quite interested in it myself. I was thinking of importing it soon and playing it, even though I don't speak a word of Japanese. I just feel compelled to as a huge fan of the series, and it looks really interesting. I also hear the music is completely changed, and I'd like to hear the new tracks for myself.
@Neosmith wrote:Actually, the translation patch by the Romhackers hasn't fallen through. It's just consistently delayed, like George Martin's Dance with Dragons. A.C. ,however, has been in contact with them and they've begun providing a few English translations of the DS UMN database over on Xenotensei.
Xernie8D wrote:Yup, I'm still interested in the game. I have Romhackers' site bookmarked to check their (VERY slow) progress on the translation. It's probably going to be another few years before they ever finish it, but hey, I'm fine with that. As long as they do finish it, that is.
@kare_reiko wrote:Right, anyone know how to upload set of subs to youtube video, I made subs (with hs type of timing) with translation from Xenoten and they didn't work good after upload to youtube. Any ideas?
katimus wrote:Hmm, Kare, I just tried uploading a new video to youtube myself, and it doesn't seem to be giving me any option to input anything but video to it. I've seen a couple of apps floating around like the http://yt-subs.blogspot.com/2010/01/how-to-upload-subtitles-to-youtube.html]youtube subtitler[/url], but barring those, looks like you might have to compress them into your existing video. Looks like that would be a REALLY big pain, tho. What application did you make your subtitles in? Or is it just a text file?
I had to dig on XenoTen for these links, but if people want yzak's images, they are available here:
http://yzak.nu/xenods/
And the Xenoten Translation threads are here:

(And at least the thing about Dance with Dragons is that it actually came out, but GRRM certainly took his time.)
@kare_reiko wrote:I wanted to add file into gameplay videos that I have on my youtube. And yeah, I made it as .txt file in notepad.
katimus wrote:Since I don't have a PC, I don't think I'd have any luck with experimenting with that Youtube Subtitler app, otherwise I'd be doing it in a heartbeat. What I could do is probably take your text file and manually put the subtitles on in iMovie or AfterEffects, but that would be a lot of hard, time-consuming work, and not a very efficient way of doing things.
Adrak wrote:From what I hear, you can mod DS cartridges. When the DS fan translation is ever completed, I'll definitely mod my copy. A part of me wants to just buy a whole new copy, just so I can have it in both Japanese and English for collector's purposes.

There is a way to do this caption-wise:
Go under your video manager for that particular video and go under Captions.

That should lead you where you need to go.
RE: Adrak, not sure if I'd wanna physically modify something like that. I'll just be sticking to my emulators. ^^
@kare_reiko wrote:kat, I did it this way, but after uploading file and check, text was showed not on right time. I was going to see other file formats etc but I too busy lately
I thought about add text into video file but that too will be a lot work (rendering, reuploading), so I will see. If all else fail then I will do this in this way

Agh, poop. Well, looks like that's a little more headway than you had been before, right?

I'll be avoiding the subtitled videos for now (when they're made). I prefer to wait till the translation project is complete and just play the game for myself. If I watch a subtitled version now I'll be less motivated to play through the story later (besides, watching it isn't as fun as playing it).
