Who is/are your favorite Xenogears character/s?

Even though they weren't in a whole lot, I have a soft spot for Elly's squad of subordinates (Helmholz, Vance, etc). It's not often that a PC in a game has that. There's also a surprisingly huge fandom for Verlaine, Bishop Stone's assistant. He really deserved a portrait, too.

And I'm still sticking to my guns on Citan. God knows as a Hojo fan, Citan is a model citizen next to him, but I like them both. I have this problem where I like characters that do horrible things, but hate seeing the same things being done in real life. I'm glad these characters exist mostly because they show people what not to do, though sometimes the message is completely skewed.

This is a difficult one. There are so many of them, and almost all of them have something I liked.

Out of the playable characters, I'd say I'll have to pick Emeralda. Her stint as a killbot, poor (IMHO) direction of english VA work and almost non-existent screen time notwithstanding, she is the first 'kid character' in a JRPG I remember genuinely liking a lot. I am usually either indifferent or irritated towards such, so I think she deserves a special mention.

Out of everyone else... Lacan would probably my first pick, with Ramsus being somewhere in the top five. That limping walrus captain would be somewhere in the first ten.

Every character is epic. I still couldn't find any other game with a great story close to this.

Citan is the coolest, fastest, the most intelligent & charismatic side character ever
and chu chu (I named her with a curse word every time I played) is the most unnecessary creature ever (but she still had a value in the end = "Awesome Game")

Fei, Elly and Karellen. I had problems with lots of the side cast, but thankfully the hero, heroine and main antagonist were all very good characters and were able to carry the story splendidly.

Among the support characters, I was partial to Citan and Miang.

Hm, is it boring to say Grahf? Of course I like them all but Grahf always was my favorite. As a bonus Wilhelm is the favorite one in Saga sooo the men with the most power?

I actually think Grahf is totally the bomb. His outfit also partially resembles Margulis', and I can totally see Grahf in a Xenogears remake or radio play being voiced by his voice actor. Spoilers being what they are, I thought it was hella amazing to see who Grahf really was, too.

Grahf is boss, even if he could be described as 'kung-fu Darth Vader'. Amusingly enough, fanart likes to paint him in the same poses too.

I have to go with Elly. Elly is the first character in the Xeno series to captivate and absolutely capture my attention. Her appearance in the forest was unique. Some lady holding a gun whilst babbling in a weird language and then being kind of ditzy with it? I loved it. I could relate so much to that. She wasn't a badass who was just wielding guns like she knew what she was doing. In fact, she was acting like how I would in that situation.

And she's just so sweet in personality. So kind-hearted, but normal and with some darkness in there as well. Plus, her appearance. Wow, does she have one of the best designs I've ever seen. Striking long red hair, purple eyes, and a uniform that is quite possibly the best uniform ever. I love it so much.

Only things I don't like about her are her reduced role in the second disc, and the fact that she wasn't a very great battler to use.

My favorite character has got to be Citan. Normally I dislike overpowered characters, but Citan is just hits all the right awesome buttons to make him so likable. Though I might go so far as to say Yui is my favorite above Citan. Cause even with all his knowledge and power, she can still kick his ass in a sword fight. An anime scene of those two fighting each other would be amazing.

Other characters I like include Elly, Emeralda, Billy, Bart, Margie, Grahf, Ramsus... pretty much everyone, actually. All characters are just to awesome not to like.

Krelian might be my favourite character in everything ever. So there you go. He's as human as characters go, and he is really multi layered.

That there is controversy regarding his character is just proof about how good he is.

After finally doing my first playthrough of Xenogears recently, I have to say my favorites are Elly and Emeralda.

Elly is, I guess what you could say, what I wanted Shion to be? Her interesting appearance and the kind of character she is makes her my favorite. Emeralda, she's just too damn adorable to not like, especially when you turn her into an adult.

As for villians or other characters that I liked, Krelian was definitely quite interesting. Just one of those guys that was pulling all the strings and had everything planned out way ahead. Seraphita was cute (Though maybe a tad too cutesy for me, but hey), and I wish we got a bit more story on her group entirely.
