Xenogears' character designer. He also did the chara-design in Xenosaga 1 and Xenoblade X (and got all kind of shit for it... despite the fact he never was responsible for the 3D models not fitting his style... it's a real shame Takahashi hired a new chara-designer for "Xenoblade 2"... because NOW they decided to use cell-shading... but the new designs look as generic as a Tales of game *not that I hate all the Tales designs, I enjoyed a few in Symphonia... but they're still quite generic as far as anime/manga go... same with XB2... at least, the red hair girl looks cute*... I can tell you people wouldn't praise them if they WEREN'T cell-shaded and would call them "nightmare fuel"/"uncanny valley"... aka how the XBX and Xenosaga 1 characters were heavily mocked for... which I think was unfair to the designer, as not many people seem to make the difference between "artstyle" and "3D modelling of the artstyle"... it would be like mocking Nomura's artstyle back in the days because the FF7 characters looked like legos).

Yeah, it's totally unfair that they criticized him for something he can't really control. His art is amazingly done and I love his designs. They're always really identifiable, not being as overly cluttered as a lot of other JRPG character designs are. And these images have this... deliciously smooth sketchy style. Oh my God, my favorite is the Fei/Elly ending scene. I must save this. It captures the feeling of it perfectly.
