Xenosaga Music Mix

Greetings, XU Members!

This is a Xeosaga Game thread!! Here is how the game works:

The person above you will post up a song title and its artist, or link you to youtube or some other music video. It can be any song from anywhere and any culture. Then, you take this song, listen to it, and post a moment in the Xenosaga series where that music would be most appropriate, if possible. If you do not believe this song is fitting of the series at all, feel free to write a summary that would be fitting that involves the Xenosaga characters. After writing the scene, provide a song of your own for the next poster.

Are we limited to what actually happened in the games? That's a tough one.

Hmm... Off the top of my head, some of the sequences this in my opinion could fit:

- Ep.III, Old Miltia's forest. I love that place's soundtrack to bits, but this would be probably my first choice.
- Ep.II, Summer/Winter Encephalon dive.
- Ep.I, freaky Bunnie forest Encephalon dive.
- Ep.II, sunken ruins on Old Miltia.
- Ep.III, ruins on the surface of Abraxas/Michtam.
- Ep.III, Abel's Ark.
- Ep.III, Zarathustra dungeon.

At least, that's what I think.

I had about three scenes in mind when I chose this. I'm curious to see if anyone would have the same association as me.

What about you, Leah? Did you have some particular scene in mind yourself?

I wouldn't think AU stuff is a problem, but I'm not Leah.

Ahh, AC/DC. X3 This song would make a really nice comedy or action AMV to the Miltia Conflict in general, mostly the flydown at the beginning of XS2 with Canaan.

Yep, Canaan and chaos setting skies on fire, figuratively speaking, was the first idea I've had about that song. Because AC/DC and suicidal piloting action are a traditional pairing made in heaven and all that. Even if there is no actual troop landing shown in that scene.

I'd also say that 'Fatal Fight' scene where Jin and Margulis duke it out for the first time a little bit later would not be out of place. Skies are already on fire and there is even a rain pouring on (if I remember right) after all. Even if gives some yaoi subtext where it is (arguably) not there. Not like some people wouldn't like it that way though The same with Jin's confrontation with Pellegri during the Old Miltia mindscrew in Ep.III.

As for the Nine Inch Nails song... I'd say Albedo making direct mind contact with U-DO would be my choice. In a more broad sense, every character that get to the point where the Beach of Nothingness is seen as an appealing alternative to their lives.

Or maybe not, because Albedo saying 'there is only me' could be considered an AU development. I don't know

That's a tough one. There is a whole bunch of scenes for which such a track wouldn't be out of place, if you ask me. Any of the numerous 'a giant ship the size of a Death Star has managed to sneak up on us, what are we gonna do?!' sequences? For some reason, Song Nephilim dusting off amongst the Old Miltia clusterfudge in Ep. II's prologue is what I'd associate this with. I'm afraid I don't have anything better at the moment.

T-elos/KOS-MOS confrontation set to 'Cherry Pie' is definitely a mental image I approve of. Although I was thinkng of Albedo... extoling... Sakura's/MOMO's qualities in the scenes where he tries to make Rubedo his cool when I posted that. Even if adds some very... interesting tones to them. More than there already was, I mean. XD
