Anyway, this keeps getting stuck in my head AND NO ONE KNOWS WHY.

They outdone themselves with this, really. Hours of FF6 in your ears.

Only complaint would be that the entire arrangement doesn't completely reflect the operaish tone of the game. I don't mind ecclectic soundtracks (like what Hamauzu did with FF13 and its sequels), but in the context of FF6... I think it doesn't fit so well. Okay, the original soundtrack DID have a few modernish songs like Zozo's theme (sorta) and Techno de Chocobo... but honestly, those are the tracks I liked the least and found a bit jaring in the game (oh yeah, and Magitek Research Facility but it went well with the place I guess). I think my favorite tracks were mostly orchestra, bossa, piano, violin, guitar ones. Shadow's theme is probably one of my favorite remix, so Morricone like... they enhanced it to its full glory.

Still, I'm not going to complain too much because it's a fan album, a darn good and looooong one and I don't mind hearing different takes on music I like in the end. For example, they turned the opera song into a rock song. I disliked it when the Black Mages did it (most of the the Black Mages rock music give me a headache anyway, not really a fan)... but here, they managed to make it sound like a Queen song so... it's all good.
It might be my favorite arrange by them, above FF7 (Voices of the Lifestream... which was the perfect FF soundtrack for modernish arrange... techno/electro music doesn't feel jaring in this one) and clearly above what they did to Xenogears with Humans and Gears (one track in particular was so shitty that I kick it out of my file into the bin... you know the one... I'm not saying the entire album was bad but it was really uneven quality wise).

I'm going to listen to those arrange of Chrono Trigger and FF9 now and see what they're worth :
