I just finished KOS-MOS' side quest in Xenoblade 2 last night. Honestly, I didn't expect much else to her character, especially for more Xenosaga references. But holy crap. Astelle is basically Shion. Stitchedmoon even pointed out that Astelle=Aster (flower)=Shion(Japanese translation).
I played the quest in Japanese (hooray for Mariko Suzuki!), but I'm not sure if she was called Astelle in the Japanese version. Anybody know? I know they made a ton of name changes for the English version, but the fact her name is basically a translation of Shion is still an awesome throwback.
