Xenosaga HD Remake/Remaster!

I have a question about this, as someone who has been out of Xeno-fandom for awhile. What is the legal status of Xenosaga, is that locked up by Namco in the way that SE has Xenogears?

I would have to disagree, while at the moment Xenosaga is locked away, KOS-MOS seems to make cameos EVERYWHERE, while, as far as I know, the only place Xenogears makes cameos is Xenosaga. xD So, there is still a SHARD of hope. I will not give up until Namco officially says that they will never do anything Xenosaga related again. =)

There was a thread on the Namco forums about Xenosaga HD. But the forums are gone now. Anyways, I'd love to see Xenosaga HD Collection. I even made this... Also, just found this, but it's a fake... Maybe we need our Operation Rainfall to see KOS-MOS in high definition?

You know, I would be kind of content if they made the games available to download as PS2 classics, ala Atlus spitting out a majority of their PS2 games on the PSN.

I just want to precise something important (probably many fans have come to the same conclusion, I guess... so sorry if you don't learn anything new here).

On some websites, fans are asking for release on PS3 or PS4.

But it is not possible on PS3/PS4, since (I guess) Monolith Software (which is 100% part of Nintendo) cannot work on console not owned by Nintendo.
The case of "Project X Zone" (released on Nintendo 3DS) is very clear about this.

By considering the case of  "Project X Zone" (edited by Namco and developped by Monolith Soft), we can see that Monolith Soft hasn't put Xenosaga stuff into oblivion, and that Namco Bandai is OK to collaborate on Xenosaga stuff. However it is just cameo (just like "Namco X Capcom" on PS2 and "Super Robot Taisen" on Nintendo DS).
Releasing a game centered ONLY on Xenosaga stuff is far less likeable, and far riskier financially, I guess.
So, a Xenosaga HD remake is not impossible on Wii U (edited by Namco and developped by Monolith Soft), but..I have little hope about this    :cry3:

I think Namco might actually own a little bit more of the rights to Xenosaga itself, although Monolith might retain the main rights to it. I'm unsure of the contracts, or if they're even public. I would hope Nintendo would be open to partnering with Bamco to get a PSN release for it, were a remaster ever made available to it, because having an HD release for the Wii/U kinda seems moot because the Wii isn't an HD system, and I've heard rumors to the effect that even many games on the Wii U aren't natively 1080p. That seems like a bit of a hard sell. I'd still get it, of course, because my PS2 is collecting dust, but I do hope that if Xenosage HD were green-lighted, that it'd be cross-console (and maybe even on the PC).

Well, Harada himself said that they could probably outsource the HD version, kind of like how Squeenix outsourced the FFX/FFX-2 HD collection, but the fact that he would want the original staff to take part is very admirable, though might hurt its chances, in a way, since the original staff, as everyone else has said, is part of Nintendo. Namco has the rights to Xenosaga, as Harada also mentioned in the article, so maybe a PS2 classic isn't too farfetched. But I suppose I'm a bit pessimistic when it comes to an HD remake.

Oh my... considering that they took all Xenosaga-related content off their main site, this is quite promising. Unless that page has been there for years, but I assume this is a recently added page, yes?

Whether it's for info of Xenosaga as PS2 Classics, a HD Remaster or even something else, it can only be good news that they're planning to add Xenosaga back to their main site. ^^

Oh, I see. But even so, I don't see much reason why they would suddenly re-add Xenosaga on the English website after having removed it from there unless they're actually going to do something with it. So I still think it's a good sign. ^^

I really hope this means what I think it means.
There is no entry for this URL before today on the Wayback Machine, so it's new, unless Namco goes through and deletes things off the Wayback Machine, which I don't think is possible.
